About us

How we started

Adelaide Veterinary Centre was founded in Lowford in 1985 in a building called Adelaide House (hence the name). By 1988 we had outgrown this site and so moved to our current location in Bursledon.

Why choose Adelaide?

We have five experienced small animal vets aided by a team of nurses and receptionists dedicated to looking after your pets. Since the practice records became computerised in 1992 we have cared for over 30,000 individual pets.
Adelaide Veterinary Centre provides all of the services needed to keep your pet fit and well, from food and toys to ultrasound, digital x-rays and surgery. So, if you are seeking advice on any aspect of pet care, do please contact us.
Scott and the team will always have the best interests of your pet at heart.

Having been nominated for Pet Plan practice of the year in 2014,2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, you know you can trust us to look after your precious pets.
Continuity of care –where possible we try to make your appointments with the same vet so that they can get to know your pet well.
Our staff genuinely care about our clients and their pets and treat them as if they were our own.
Our committed and experienced staff get to know you and your pets personally.
Approachable and friendly staff.
We are happy to claim the costs of treatment directly from insurance companies provided we have evidence of cover (payment of any excess will be required).
Small enough to be able to offer a personal level of service. You will usually be able to see the same vet, or the vet of your choice
Large enough to be able to offer a broad range of skills and services and usually avoid the need for locum vets during holidays.
RCVS General Practice Small Animal Accredited Practice.
A training practice for trainee nurses (requiring rigorous external inspection procedures)
